The Student Associate Program provides knowledge of MIT’s Public Art Collection, contemporary art practices, visual literacy and analysis, critical thinking, and public engagement with art, architecture, and environs.

The MIT List Visual Arts Center is pleased to introduce the 2025-2026 Student Associates who lead walking tours of the Public Art Collection and assist in public programming.

Fiona Chen, Harvard PhD student in economics, who previously studied math and economics at MIT (class of 2021). In her free time, she enjoys art, music, and running.

Hafsa Amin, MIT Sophomore Electrical Engineering with Computing. She loves learning about all forms of art and spends her free time painting, visiting museums, and watching movies with friends.

Maureen Zhang, MIT Sophomore studying CS and Mathematical Economics. She loves exploring digital archives, writing for the Infinite, running, and planning food crawls around Boston.

Manaal Mohammed, MIT graduate student in Mechanical Engineering studying AI and Decision Making. She loves collaging and making crosswords in her free time.

Sarah Schmitt, MIT Sophomore studying Course 5-7 (Chemistry and Biology) and pursuing a career in medicine. While not studying, she likes to draw and explore Boston, as well as train and compete with the MIT Track and Field team as a pole vaulter.

Tatiana Medved, MIT Freshman studying Course 18 (Mathematics). She enjoys reading biographies, folding origami, and learning about contemporary art.
