Artist Rami George screens a “video playlist” and conversation in conjunction with their forthcoming exhibition at the List Center, List Projects 21: Rami George. The program includes a selection of George’s video essays alongside excerpts from public media about the Samaritan Foundation, a new age spiritual cult that was active in the 1990s, and short films by late Chicago-based experimental filmmaker Allen Ross.

The video program is followed by a discussion with the artist that connects the footage to their conceptualization of their upcoming exhibition at the List Center on view March 17-May 20, 2020.

This program is part of the Independent Activities Period (IAP), a special four week term at MIT that runs from the first week of January until the end of the month. As part of IAP, this program is part one of a two part series of video screenings and artist discussion.

If you are part of the MIT Community please email Emily A. Garner at eagarner [at] mit.edu (eagarner[at]mit[dot]edu).

All programs are free and open to the general public. RSVPs are required. RSVP here.
