Please join us for the opening reception in conjunction with Amalia Pica and Oliver Laric: Versions. Reception begins with a conversation with Amalia Pica and List center curator João Ribas.

Organized by the MIT List Visual Arts Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago, Amalia Pica is the artist’s first major solo museum exhibition in the United States.  The exhibition provides the first in-depth look at the last ten years of this London-based, Argentina-born artist’s work. Using materials such as photocopies, light bulbs, bunting, and cardboard, Pica creates sculptures and installations that address fundamental issues of communication.

Laric’s ongoing Versions (2009-2012), an exploration of the nature of images and objects in digital space, reflect the conditions of the digital: how original and copy, thing and thought, event and document, are collapsed in a flattened information space where everything rests a click away from everything else.

This event is FREE and open to the general public.  All are welcome.
