A man sits on a folding chair and types on a typewriter. The white wall behind him and the wooden floor are smeared with red paint and marked with multicolored tape in various geometric forms. Other objects are scattered at his feet, including a corded phone, a folder, and a hat.

Join List Center exhibition curator Ramona Ngin for a guided tour of Performing Conditions: Artistic Labor and Dependency as Form

This curatorial tour will highlight how Performing Conditions examines the entangled relationships between art, labor, debt, and dependency. Moving through works that engage histories of racial capitalism, institutional critique, and social interdependence, the tour will explore how artists reveal the conditions under which art is made, performed, circulated, and displayed.
