A close-up view of a woven netlike structure of a hanging textile artwork. The artwork forms a kind of dense cylinder, with several overlapping layers of material. On the left of the image, another orange netlike artwork hangs on the wall encasing a smaller green fiber cylinder inside of it.

This guided exhibition walkthrough and conversation encourages visitors to take a closer look at the works in the Brussels-based artist Hana Miletić’s first solo museum exhibition in the United States. The presentation features selections from her signature hand loomed Materials series, and a related group of Jacquard loomed works under the title Softwares, both of which are based on the artist’s snapshots of stopgap repairs to buildings and other objects in urban public space. Upon closer consideration, one will discover the intricacies of the handwoven and hand manipulated textile forms, and the attention of affect and care embedded within.
