MIT List Visual Arts Center, 20 Ames St., Cambridge MA
The average museum visitor spends just 15 to 30 seconds in front of an artwork. Find out what happens when you’re invited to look slowly at the List Center during this special tour celebrating Slow Art Day. Linger, discuss, and reflect on works of art on display in Colored People Time: Mundane Futures, Quotidian Pasts, Banal Presents.
From 12-2 PM a handout will be available at the List Visual Arts Center front desk to provide visitors with a self-guided gallery viewing experience. The idea is to spend 10 minutes with each artwork—fully engaged in a relaxed manner.
At 2 PM join us for a facilitated group discussion to share observations and possible interpretations. All programs are free and open to the general public. RSVPs are required. To RSVP click here.
