Hannah Weinberger makes sounding objects using freely accessible samples gathered from the web, sourced in sound libraries, or recordings from social gatherings such as art openings. Her new work builds on her interest in participation, auditory and visual modes of perception by combining different sonic objects that respond to movement throughout the space. The participatory activation is the final public event for Open Tunings in which attendees will engage with Weinberger’s works to create a kind of collective performance. Weinberger’s installation remains on view through January 4.
The event is free and open to all. The activation takes place in the List’s Reference Gallery, and the reception to celebrate the final installation in Open Tunings takes place in the Upper Atrium.
