Open Tunings Live Performance: David Grubbs and Eli Keszler

October 10, 2014, 6:00PM

20 Ames Street, Bldg. E15, Cambridge MA 02139

David Grubbs and Eli Keszler kick off the Open Tunings exhibition series with their collaboration One and One Less, a spoken word and percussion performance-installation. Grubbs recorded an excerpt from his text One Poem—a dense description of a fictive musical performance—which is fed through seven custom-made, sculptural sound boxes. This live performance will feature a reading by Grubbs accompanied by Keszler’s characteristic jarringly rhythmic drumming, reversing the mechanical abstraction of the voice and restoring the text’s legibility.

This performance is free and takes place in the List’s Reference Gallery.

Please note there is no RSVP for this event.

Capacity is limited.  First come, first served.
