Sculpted Paper Workshop II

Artist Tony Smith’s vibrant steel sculpture For Marjorie (1961, fabricated 1977) sits at the far west side of MIT’s campus, alluring visitors with its dynamic geometric form. Explore this work of art up close with a guided visit and learn how to look at art with a young child. Then, take inspiration from the sculpture’s shape and color to create an abstracted paper sculpture by folding, twisting, and crimping.

This session is designed for children over 5 years old. See Sculpted Paper Workshop I for children under 5. Please note: the workshop will take place in the Westgate Lounge (see above for directions).
