Sculpted Paper Workshop I

Artist Tony Smith’s vibrant steel sculpture For Marjorie (1961, fabricated 1977) sits at the far west side of MIT’s campus, alluring visitors with its dynamic geometric form. Get to know this work of art up close with a guided visit and learn how to look at art with a young child. Then, take inspiration from the sculpture’s shape and color to create a wearable paper sculpture by folding, twisting, and gluing.

This session is designed for children under 5 years old. See Sculpted Paper Workshop II for children over 5.  Please note: the workshop will take place in the Westgate Lounge (see above for directions).
