Family Day: Neon Prints Workshop

June 14, 2014, 12:00PM - 4:00PM

20 Ames Street, Bldg. E15
Cambridge MA, 02139

Join families at the List for a day of art and exploration. FREE and open to all; no advanced registration required.

Neon Prints Workshop: 12 to 4 pm

Exploring the List’s newest exhibition, 9 Artists, reveals the way in which artists use bright color and industrial materials—such as Yael Bartana’s bright neon sign and Europe will be stunned (2010) and Hito Steyerl’s Red Signal (2007)—to create high impact artwork. Create your own to fluorescent works of art inspired by pieces in 9 Artists by printing on paper and cards.  Bring your own 100% cotton t-shirt, tote bag, or towel to print a wearable design.

 Family-friendly Tour: 2 pm

Take a guided tour of 9 Artists to see the range and scope of neon colors and nontraditional forms of printmaking on view in the exhibition.
