Professor of Geography Ronald Eastman is compelled by the search for patterns in Earth observation data. Geographic Information Science can be defined as the field of study concerned with the process of acquiring information from data that are arrayed in space and time. 

The List is pleased to host this Catalyst Conversation, an ongoing dialogue between art and science.  Catalyst Conversations is presented in partnership with the Four Sculptors series at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
