Public Programs

Film Nights

Film programs presented at the MIT List Visual Arts Center are organized by John Gianvito, Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual & Media Arts at Emerson College. Many, but not all films presented are thematically linked to issues and perspectives raised by exhibitions. Films screened at the List Center include: Schizo (Redux) (2004) which fascinatingly overlaid Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) with Gus Van Sant's shot-by-shot remake (1998); and The Beaver Trilogy (1979, 1981, 1985), a short independent film, remade twice, with Crispin Glover, Sean Penn, and others. Most recently the List Center presented a series of short films by Chris Marker. This program included The Sixth Side of the Pentagon a documentary on the 1967 anti-war march on the Pentagon.
