Please join us for the opening reception celebrating Katrín Sigurdardóttir: Drawing Apart, on view from February 13 to April 12, 2015.

The exhibition presents two bodies of the artist’s sculptural work recently completed as part of the commission for this show. The objects in the series Ellefu–“eleven” in Icelandic–are abstracted, miniaturized constructions of interior segments of the artist’s childhood home in Reykjavík; for Unbuilt Residences in Reykjavík, 1925-1930, Sigurdardóttir uses unrealized architectural drafts of houses to create models that are then destroyed by various means only to be reconstructed from the remains. This event is FREE and open to all.
